What the app does

A clock and weather widget first, with a complete weather app behind it.

Widgets you design

15 clock and weather widgets, from a slim 2×1 to a 5×2 forecast graph. Pick a skin and an icon pack, set the colours and the transparency, and give each widget its own location.

Live radar

An animated radar map shows rain, snow and storms moving across the region, so you can see what is heading your way and when.

Severe weather alerts

A Premium feature: notifications for storms, heavy rain, high winds and other severe weather near you. In the US the app can use National Weather Service warnings.

Hourly and 10-day forecasts

Up to 10 days ahead (7 days with National Weather Service data). Temperature, feels-like, rain probability, wind, humidity, pressure, UV index, visibility, sunrise and sunset, moon phase and air quality.

Activity planner

Rates the hours ahead for running, hiking, fishing and other outdoor plans, using rain, wind and UV in the forecast.

Your choice of forecast

Forecasts come from Foreca by default. You can switch to Met.no, OpenWeatherMap or Open-Meteo in the settings.

Free, with optional Premium

The app is free to download and use, with ads. Premium is an optional subscription; prices are shown in the app and vary by country.

Premium adds:

  • No ads
  • Severe weather alerts
  • Every radar layer, animated
  • All premium widgets, weather icons and backgrounds
  • Exact times when rain will start and stop
  • Pollen (allergy) and marine forecasts
  • The full “weather tomorrow” and skin-care forecasts

Prefer to pay once? Transparent Clock & Weather Pro is the same app without ads, sold as a one-time purchase on Google Play.

Yes. The app is free to download and use, with ads. An optional Premium subscription removes the ads and adds severe weather alerts, extra radar layers, premium widgets and icons, rain start and stop times, and pollen and marine forecasts. There is also a Pro version without ads, sold as a one-time purchase.

Touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen, choose Widgets, find Transparent Clock & Weather and drag the widget you want onto the screen. The step-by-step guide covers styling it and fixing a widget that stops updating.

Open the app and go to Settings, then Widget settings. There you can choose the widget skin, its colours and how transparent the background is, from fully transparent to solid.

Yes. In Settings, Weather & location settings, turn off “Use my location” and search for your city instead. When location is on, it is used only to show the weather where you are.

Yes. Save several locations, then tap the location name on a widget to switch between them, or add more than one widget and give each its own location.

From Foreca by default. You can switch to Met.no, OpenWeatherMap or Open-Meteo in the settings, and in the US the app can use National Weather Service warnings. Different providers use different models, which is why two weather apps can disagree.

Transparent Clock & Weather is Android only. On iPhone, our Local Weather Forecast & Radar app offers easy-to-read weather, radar, alerts and home-screen widgets.
